Turquoise Aurene Vase

Artistic Description

Among the unusual Steuben pieces in the collection is a turquoise Aurene bowl, probably made between about 1905 and 1918, with applied threaded decoration. The bowl has the original Steuben paper sticker on the base. Turquoise Aurene is not seen very often, and this bowl is the only one in this color in CMoG’s collection.

SYMPOSIUM HIGHLIGHTS

Banquet and Raffle

As in past years, Symposium attendees and guests will have the pleasure of a nice dinner at Corning, Inc. overlooking the beautiful Chemung River. It’s a “dress up” event that is fun and is fitting end to Symposium Weekend.

Since we’ve moved our auction to Friday night, this year we will have a raffle of donated items , glass, books, tickets, gift baskets, etc. , as a fundraising event for the Club. Raffle tickets will be sold at the dinner. Bring cash or checks for tickets.

It promises to be a fun event!
