Carder Steuben Decorations
Frederick Carder was the king of decorations. There are nearly 100 different decorations listed in the Club’s shape gallery, and there are regular and frequent questions and discussions among collectors concerning the many different decorating applications and techniques.

Christa Westbrook started working in CMOG’s The Studio since 2012, first as a Studio Assistant and now in her current role as Studio Coordinator. Christa teaches classes both in flameworking and in furnace glassblowing. In the Studio Hot Shop, Christa will be demonstrating a number of Carder’s decorating techniques, including pulled feather, prunts, lip wrap and iridescence. This is a rare opportunity to watch how some of these techniques are done and develop a new appreciation of the many decorations that Carder Steuben glass has to offer.
Symposium registration information can be found below or at www.cardersteubenclub.org. The registration deadline is September 1.
