Thanks for the continuing coverage including special interest items. I would like to respond to one comment today about AXA Insurance which is a French (but international) corporation and any concerns about insuring with them. Sometime in the late 20th century AXA bought Equitable which was a huge American corporation and remains in business as an American brand. I am not sure which other companies AXA owns but many. In any event they have huge American operations and while I do not recommend any insurance companies in particular my opinion is that one should have no more concern about an AXA company than any other insurance company.
The most important aspect of any insurance is the company’s rating from various sources, their ability to pay and their responsiveness to claims which is perhaps best discovered by reading reviews online. Not to belabor the point but I worked very early in my life for an insurance syndicate (just a group of companies with common type of insurance) and I learned a lot about insurance and re-insurance.
ÿAlmost any type if insurance coverage is covered by re-insurance from companies all over the world, so one would be hard put to find insurance risk that is covered by a solely American companies. Generally insurance is obtained from “brokers” or “agents”, some branded and some independent, and those should be local and known to be reliable by the buyer.
