Blue Aurene, introduced about 1905, was essentially the same formula as Gold Aurene with cobalt added to the batch. The iridescence was produced at the fire with a spray of tin chloride, as in the Gold Aurene process. Blue Aurene was produced through the entire time Carder was in charge of the factory and continued to be made until about 1933. It was also often called Cobalt Blue and Cobalt Blue Aurene by the Steuben factory workmen.
