Decorated Aurenes, as well as decorated iridized calcite and alabaster, are perhaps the most highly prized category of Steuben glass commonly available. While ranging from very scarce to extremely rare, they represent some of the most exciting art glass every produced at Steuben. Fortunately decorated Aurenes were produced in great numbers as lamp shades. In addition to being far more readily available to the collector, these shades are considerably lower in price and can carry decorations never seen on non-shade forms.
