Issue 2683
I have a confession. As a collector. My favorite is always a tie between the one I just found and the one I am looking to find! This blue Aurene does have special place in my heart. One of the fun things about collecting is that it is a continuous never ending journey. This piece was put up for auction at a local auction house. It has an engraved number “2772” and Aurene hand etched in the base. It was not receiving much attention at all. I looked it up in the shape gallery and it was not as numbered. On a hunch I started moving up and down bracketing from that number. It really is a 2773 Vase. I showed the photo to Beth Shaut at the Carder Steuben shop in Corning. She explained that the person who numbered them was not perfect. Occasionally they were miss-numbered. A good deal and an education! I Love to see the incredible pieces that some of you have gathered. Your photos are a wonderful education as well. Brad Withers
