Good Morning, Carder Steuben Club Members

I just stumbled upon an upcoming convention for another form of collecting and guess what? It intersects our own Glass World!

On May 4th – May 6th the National Open Salt Collectors, (well of COURSE there would be a group of folk collecting these little beauties!) are holding their annual convention in San Diego!

Carder Steuben Club member David Chadwick Brown will be presenting on Frederick Carder’s Stueben Glass. He has collected Carder era Steuben for 40 years and is a professor at UCSD so is very comfortable in front of a group of people.

Further, noted authority Mike Manginella ( a former presenter at the Carder Club Symposium) will be presenting on Little Wheels; The Art of Copper Wheel Engraving, which if you have never gotten to hear him speak on the subject will greatly inform your OWN collection of cut and engraved glass.

Sorry to say the registration date is only a week away, so think fast if you wish to enjoy this national convention in beautiful San Diego.) Lisa Ackerman Baldwin

After Correcting the Right Picture

Dick Stark comments that Dick Weerts’ correctly identified Cire Perdue cherub picture is even more astounding. Never saw a better piece
