These are my collection on the top of clear-to-color Steuben pieces, except for the prong vase. For earlier years, it always seemed that shading was only with the grotesques, but as I progressed in my collecting, I discovered other items – vases, compotes, fan vases, etc., in this technique, so the novelty wore off. The auction house attribution of ‘Steuben’ to the clear to orange vase was misleading – but sometimes you have to live with your mistakes and is the price you pay for not bidding ‘in person.

Green Aurene lamp base with brown Aurene shade was part of a set, so I am guessing that such mixing of Aurenes was not a marriage, but an intentionally marketed combination. The Green Aurene lamp base has a tin chloride surface treatment akin to Blue and Gold Aurene. Other Green, Red, Brown, Yellow, and Turquoise are ‘Aurenes’ for their Aurene trailings, but this base has the same acidized finish as Blues and Golds.

Far right is citron center bowl with matching twist stem candlesticks. The bowl was always questioned as to authenticity, and so never entered onto the website
