David Donaldson Shares More Shades

I do not use many of my shades, I show most of them in all-glass tower show cases that are lighted. To me shades have always been just as beautiful as vases. A friend once said that shades are ” more bang for your buck”. Bobby Rockwell sold me my first 2 shades on my first visit to Corning. Oddly they were huge Lustre Art (not Steuben) trumpet shapes in a ribbed white exteriors and shimmering gold interiors. I seem to recall that they were $50.00 for the pair…..all I could afford being a graduate student. When Harvey Littleton and I headed back to Madison, WI, he concurred they were lovely and a great buy, so I was fair chuffed.
