It’s About Color
Barbara Iglewski has sent a picture of her “blue” elephant. Celeste Blue or French Blue?
Alan –
The factory records say that one of the colors that was used for the elephants was French Blue (Crystal (i.e., colorless) and Bristol Yellow are also specifically mentioned). These are the only three listed. I have to say that the color in the photo of Barbara’s elephant looks a lot more like French Blue to me than Celeste Blue. Scott Hansen
Scott Coots adds to the discussion about whether this elephant is Celeste Blue by observing that “the thickness of the body certainly makes the color more saturated. I think that I would lean towards going with a blue mentioned in factory records, in this case French blue.”
Ed. Going to the cardersteubenclub.org website; looking then at the Shape Gallery and then to shape #7231 you will find the following factory shape drawing identified with original colors. Also, you will find the following elephant colors as identified on the website. If you have yet another color elephant or one with a post, please send in a picture to be shared and posted on the website to make it yet more complete.
