I have wondered if they never removed the sprue from the alabaster plaque because it didn’t show as well before the light bulb, as do the green and yellow ones.
The paintings throughout my condo were painted by my grandfather, who was the scenic designer for Wharton Studios when Ithaca was the place where the silent films were shot, prior to moving to Hollywood where year-round filming was possible. All the old ‘Perils of Pauline’ and other early films had trolley cars about to go into one of the gorges – Ithaca is gorges, goes the slogan – and of course that was when the teaser ended that episode, in the hope that viewers would return next week to learn whether Pearl White or John Barrymore would survive the cliffhanger.
No narrative, as the picture speak for itself.
