Question to Brian Severn–Would you care to share the F. Heckert documentation with us so we can understand why it is not Kralik. I assume there is a picture in the book you refer to. I am very curious to see where this piece and the piece pictured on the Loetz site differ.
Regards,
David P. Donaldson, MFA

Most of what is shown on Mr. Villanueva’s site with regards to this discussion is outdated information, information that was based on conjecture, not factual research with documentation.
The Fritz Heckert book on the other hand comes from the museum director in the region where both Fritz Heckert and Josephinenhutte (which later merged) were located, in an area called Selesia, which is modern day Poland. It’s very close to the Czech border, and is only about 45 minutes away from the famous Harrach Glassworks (of which astute Steuben historians will recall Mr. Carder visited prior to starting Steuben).
Please find attached several photos from the Fritz Heckert book that document the Heckert Silberband glass which was incorrectly attributed to Kralik (and even Loetz by some).
