Inspired
Thank you Susan Shovers of Evansville, IN for spotting the picture of the ubiquitous shape #938 vase in this weekend’s WJS. magazine (Wall Street Journal) at page 56.
The companion article captioned “Weinrib’s World” describes “renowned textile and rug designer Madeline Weinrib” introducing a pop-up at Barneys Madison Avenue store where Weinrib is also commissioning new, limited-edition pieces from several artisans, including vases based on Steuben from the early 1900s and made by a master glass blower. Available in a variety of colors with a cinnabar-red rim. The real deal 938 from the Carder Steuben Club website looks quite similar.
Request for Help with Mysterious Piece of Glass
Several responses to Debby Schultz’ request to identify.
Concerning the “Mystery vase”, the best I can find from an encounter with the same style vase years ago when I worked at the CMG is the following: https://sites.google.com/site/loetzandglass/kralik-7–silverband

The unidentified piece is not Tiffany but
Austrian glass, most likely Loetz . The image is a bit lacking.

In response to the mystery glass vase I would have to bet on it being Bohemian but it is hard to tell from the photos.

It appears Debby Schultz’ photo is probably a Bohemian/Czech./Loetz type item.
