Our online catalog continues to be a good source for Carder Steuben materials, and we are continually adding new items:

Both printed and original materials, such as drawings. When we digitize items, we can add the digiital materials to the catalog.

One such item of interest is:

Carder, Frederick. Recipes for making flint & colored glass, some old & some new [black square-shaped notebook].
1901-[1908]

This item is in the Frederick Carder notebook collection.

Includes recipes for: amethyst, avanturine [aventurine],
amber, alabaster, aurora, aurene, Burmese ware, brown, lead crystal, lead batch, lime batch, copper lustre
glass, green, pomona green, ivory, opalescent, puce or purple, ruby, ruby from gold, ruby from Sel. & Cd.S.,
rose du Barry, straw opalescent, silver stain, turquoise [i.e. turquoise], topaz, volute, and opaque yellow.
There are notes under the headings of peacock blue, chrysophase, crackled glass, etching glass, onyx glass,
poppy red, printing ink (for cold process), new rose color from selenium, Rockingham, silver leaf, shaded
ware, cryolite glass, yellow, and opaque yellow. The Burmese recipe is attributed to Thos. Webb & Sons from
1889-1891. The topaz and gold recipes are dated 1884 and the ruby from Sel. & Cd.S. is dated March 1908.
