Intarsia Discussion

from Norman Skolnick of Toronto

I was the custodian of that experimental piece mentioned by David Chadwick-Brown in the last Gazette and spent many hours studying it’s characteristics and fully believed it to be Steuben as well. To add just a touch more detail I believe that it would not have been signed because it was still at the experimental stage and did not meet Mr. Carder’s expectations. The bleeding of the black was too extensive so it was just given away.

Windowglass Screen

David Chadwick-Brown of San Diego sent along this picture with his picture of experimental Intarsia along with this commentary on color.

The chamberstick is an example of the windowglass green that seems to be found only in conjunction with blue.

Help With the Color?

from Dave Kingsley and Duane Moulton of
Loxahatchee,FL

We were wondering if someone might be able to help us identify the color of blue used in this 2956 Optic Rib Candlestick? We cannot seem to come up with a satisfactory match on our own.
