Patterns Never Seen Before

Corning resident and historian Tom Dimitroff has recently uncovered a treasure trove of information about Bolislav Manikowski, Frederick Carder’s assistant. Drawings and designs, including a notebook with about 133 hand drawn acid-etched patterns, including several never before seen, will be shared when Tom speaks at the Carder Steuben Symposium, September 19 – 20 in Corning, NY. Attendees will have an opportunity to see in person many of these newly discovered remarkable drawings, and learn more about Mr. Carder’s assistant.

Program and registration details can be found at www.cardersteubenclub.org.

Bristol Yellow – Steuben

Twisted, vertically ribbed, and threaded, complete table services were among the items manufactured in this Steuben crystal colored glassware. Its vivid golden yellow hue was exceedingly popular and brilliant in comparison to similar wares produced by competing companies. Silver was used in this blend to create this blend to create this most unusual yellow cast.
