Reintroduction of colorless Steuben

This is the announcement of the reintroduction of Steuben colorless piece production. Note specifically that this is a “new, lead-free crystal” not the original M10 formula. If you go to www.steuben.com you will see the other three pieces that are being re-introduced now including the “Frederick Carder inspired Handkerchief Vase.”

REINTRODUCING STEUBEN DESIGNS

The Corning Museum of Glass is pleased to reintroduce four classic Steuben designs. These are limited-production works that are made in the US, using a new, lead-free crystal.

Now Available through The Corning Museum of Glass
James Houston’s 1964 design, Eagle
James Houston’s 1966 design, Trout & Fly
John Dreves’ 1939 design, Olive Dish
Frederick Carder-inspired design from 1991, Little Handkerchief Vase

Also available are European-made Steuben hand coolers, animals and an assortment of other much-loved Steuben items. Quantities are limited and other designs will be reintroduced in the weeks and months ahead.
In September, a new Steuben Holiday ornament will be introduced, made in the US, using the new, lead-free crystal. These limited production designs are being sold exclusively through the GlassMarket of The Corning Museum of Glass; they are available online and also in the Museum’s store. All proceeds of the sale of these products benefit the educational mission of the Museum.

My Best Bargain

The best bargain that I have found so far is a Verre de Soie 1455 cologne with a blue jade stopper. I paid $8.00 for it about 30 years ago.
