Hi Alan,

“Loetz.com” has been around for a few years. It was sold sometime back and has been re-vamped. It is a very useful site, although not quite as easy as it used to be.

Alan, In addition to the site that Scott mentions, there is another site if you google “loetz and glass”. It is the site of Mr. Alfredo Villanueva-Collada, a retired college professor and collector of Czech Jugenstil glass. Great info on Pallme – Koenig, Kralik, Rindskopf, etc.

Millefiore

Ms. Dyer,

The material ( millifiori tesserae ) are the same in both techniques. The pieces you have are vases where the individual tesserae are used randomly, not in any organized design.

Alan,

I’m surprised that Amanda Dyer referred to the Forsyth collection, because these pieces are part of the Runyon Collection which is on exhibit in the Forsyth Gallery. The Runyon’s were Aggies who retained Ray and Lee Grover, noted authors and dealers in fine art glass, to select and purchase the glass that the Runyon’s donated to the Gallery. The glass collection includes some great Carder Steuben as well as a world-class collection of English Cameo and Tiffany. College Station is not the easiest place to get to but, if you are in the area, the Forsyth Gallery is worth a visit.

The pieces shown are Steuben and have Millefiore flowers in addition to other decoration. They are referred to as Steuben Millefiore and are not considered marquetry.
