Issue 1942
Hello Alan,
Would you mind posting the following query to the Gazette?
We have a few Aurene pieces in the Forsyth collection that have been cataloged as having millifiori decoration, and I’ve seen other sources call this type of decorated Aurene millefiori as well. This is obviously not the same technique as mosaic glass using slices of rod. Is this type of decoration considered marquetry? Or another technique? And can someone explain exactly how these decorations are achieved?
(Two examples are below.)
Thank you,
Amanda
