Issue 1835
from John Styler of Prospect Heights, IL
When I examined the Corning Glass Works stock certificate sold at the Symposium auction it appeared to me that the Carder signature was done with a rubber stamp.
From what I have learned CMOG has several in their collection. I wonder how are they signed.
The New Steuben
from Debbie Tarsitano
I am glad to see CMoG in producing the New Steuben will give glass artists here in the USA a part of the business in making work in the tradition of Steuben.
Identification Clinic
Susan Craigie of Richmond, Virginia asks help in identifying this piece. Incidentally, Willson & Susan added a great deal of southern charm and color to the Symposium auction.
Referring to “Frederick Carder: Portrait of a Glassmaker” page #56: would we suppose this vase to have been made by Carder? 10″ tall and 9″ at widest.
