First off, Tommy Dreiling of Brooklyn asks about the “Color Orange”.
If I understand it correctly Cintra was made by rolling a gather of colorless glass in powered colored glass.
I would assume that the powered glass used would have been made by Carder at Steuben but has anyone else ever noticed that there is orange Cintra but no other orange glass? The orange used in the Cintra pieces is vivid and I think it’s beautiful but I have always wondered why no other orange glass, does anyone have any knowledge about this?- Tommy Dreiling
Then, Tommy responds to Rande Bly on the Color Green
Hi – I have owned that exact shape and color, at the time I called it window glass green because it reminded me of the old cheap glass that was used for soda bottles and windows when they didn’t need to be clear, like for windows in back alleys and such. – Tommy Dreiling
