Symposium Reminders

1. The Symposium is just 30 days away – September 20 – 22.

2. If you haven’t made your hotel reservations for the Symposium, now is the time to do so. The release date for our discounted rooms at the Radisson is Wednesday, August 29 and for the Comfort Inn is Thursday, September 6.

3. The registration fee for the Symposium goes up Friday, September 7. Get your registration in before then to avoid the fee increase. Symposium details and registration instructions can be found on the club web site (www.cardersteubenclub.org) or in the packet mailed to all members of the Club.

4. There is still time to place items in the glass auction following the banquet on Saturday night. Complete details can be found in the “Auction” link on the club web site or write the auction chair, Marshall Ketchum, at mdketchum@yahoo.com.

5. Our glass show will be held Friday afternoon this year, not Thursday. If you are interested in participating in the glass show, contact David Goldstein at elvidant@aol.com for details about table rentals. Symposium registrants may bring up to 6 glass items that are not Steuben (not Carder and not Modern) to sell at the tables provided by the Club. If you bring items for sale, mark them with a price and some sort of seller identification. 15% of the sale price must be paid to the club.

6. Contact Bonnie Salzman at bsalzman@msn.com if you are bringing an item (or photograph) to share in the Fakes, Forgeries and Look-alikes session.

7. Bring your CMoG membership card to the Symposium. You won’t need it for the Symposium but it facilitates entry to the Museum and ensures you get your 15% members’ discount when you shop at the Museum.

8. Dress for the Symposium is casual and for the Saturday night banquet is semi-formal.
