Leigh Demrow of Janesville, WI adds some perspective to the Eric Ericksion book conversation.
Alan, First I have to say that there are very few antique’s reference books that I can’t find some mistakes in, and on the other hand there are very few that I don’t learn something from. Mr. Ericson’s books remind me of Henry Winter’s “Tiffany Dynasty” books with all their faults, but still interesting reading. L.A.D.

Then, Gerry Eggert comments on the 1972 Corning flood and efforts of the Houghton family
Alan,
I have had a similar experience with Congressman Amo Houghton, whom Barber Conable considered to be one of the most honest and responsible Members of Congress. I am sure the Houghton family did whatever they could to help Corning recover from the flood. Too bad we do not have a prize or award honoring the Houghton family support of the Steuben-Corning Glass enterprise.
