Rande Bly of Birmingham, Alabama submits this piece on various colors of Mr. Carder’s greens.

As I last reported Antique Green is incorrect at the website and I have confirmed Pale Green. I will show photo’s and list 9 Steuben greens. Six are confirmed and 3 are unconfirmed. The 3 unconfirmed will be noted with an (*). The Greens are listed in order shading from dark to light.

1) Special Green (confirmed)

2)*Antique Green(unconfirmed)

3) Sea Green (confirmed)

4) Spanish Green (confirmed)

5) Pomona Green (confirmed)

6) *Green #5 (unconfirmed)

7) *English Antique (unconfirmed)

8) Celadon Green (confirmed)

9) Pale Green (confirmed) (most likely also Window Glass Green)

During the completion of the Greens series I will present the information compiled to justify the names I have listed of the 3 unconfirmed greens. At least 2 of the 3 unconfirmed greens we have formulas to and further testing will provide confirmation. The photo’s will follow the order of the list. Personally I am tired of many of these just being called Pomona Green.

Later I will further explain how to recognize these different greens in your collections and some simple tests you can do at home to separate them.
