Yesterday the question was asked where is Steuben production currently taking place. Gerry Eggert of Rochester, New York takes a stab at an answer.

I thought that the “new” Clear Steuben is to be made in Portugal. I am not sure if the “new” colored Steuben is to be made in Corning or abroad. The current sale is to raise cash by clearing the current inventory. Once the current inventory is sold, all new clear Steuben will come from Portugal. I could be wrong, but that is my understanding. I bought 2 nice pieces of clear Steuben at CMOG 6 weeks ago at 50% off. Still expensive compared to Auction prices, but at CMOG I got the boxes and wrapping.
