Bonnie Salzman adds the following to our discussion of the use of umber.
Hi Alan,
Last weekend I worked on my presentation to the Carder Steuben Club at their upcoming Symposium in September. Now, I don’t want to spoil any surprises, but I found the attached picture of the “decorating room” from 1915 in the Rakow Library that will be included in my presentation. It looks like these ladies are applying raw umber to the calcite shades.
