Bea Weiskopf of Northbrook, Illinois queries

Hi all

My ivory lemonade set which is much thinner glass than my Stamford vase glows orange under a flashlight similar to older custard glass and older opal glass. I was told that uranium salts caused this.

We have been watching for a few years to see if Carder’s mica fleck pieces came in only silver or did he use gold mica fleck also. I felt the gold was also used. The two examples I have seen were a Selenium Red plate with applied clear rim containing gold mica fleck and the 2687 bowl. The 2687 bowl also came in glue chip or clear with fired on enamel decoration. The 2687 shape is perfect for these rare non production pieces to show up in. (Gardner page 62 Ill. 96) Would I be correct in thinking he also used gold mica fleck? Does anyone have any gold fleck pieces?
