Beginning with the copy labels used by Susan Colaricci Sauls, when she curated a Carder Steuben exhibit at the University of Southern Indiana she documented Frederick Carder’s use of the classics in his design. All this lead to later discussion by Elizabeth and Frank Creech on the classics. Susan sees it as
The Carder exhibit certainly taught me that Mr. Carder was an intelligent and observant designer. I believe he did look backward in time for design inspiration and then created timeless works of art.
