Beth Shaut of the Carder Steuben Shop in Corning sends along this picture on the Cardinal Red discussion

Hi Alan: I am attaching a photo of a Cardinal Red 2956 -12in. candlestick we have. This color is the same as the Cardinals feeding at the feeder in my back yard.

There is no clear coat. The pieces that you have been showing with the clear coats are in my opinion European, Czech or Italian. The piece that was at Skinners if looked at close was neither Steuben or Sinclaire but very similar to the pieces coming from Italy done by sand blasted method. Looking close the pattern is too smooth to be Acid Etched. Beth

Once there in the search box type in shape 1024 or Cardinal Red. This is what you’ll find. http://cardersteubenclub.org/shapes/item-view.cfm?RecordID=23627 Yup, a stick just like or maybe like Beth’s marked “Cardinal Red”. Interestingly, the construction of this piece matches up to a typical Carder piece. Likewise the piece matches up in the shape index.
