Marshall Ketchum of Genoa, New York adds to the discussion on the color of topaz and amber
My definition of the difference between Amber and Topaz which I think I must have gotten from Mr. Rockwell and Bobby Rockwell is that Amber is somewhat on the yellow side while Topaz is somewhat on the brown side. That formula seems to be followed by Tom Dimitroff in his book. See Figures 5.8, 8.11, 8.15, 10.89, 10.107 and 10.143 in Tom’s book for what he calls Amber and Figures 2.36 and 10.33 for Topaz.
