Frank Ford asks the following:
HELLO,
Thanks so much for the wonderful Steuben Club information about Steuben glass.
May I ask a question :
You recently had information about “Tiffany Blue”. I am a novice about all this so I am wondering about other “blues”.
I have a piece of Turquoise Aurene ( signed Aurene 651 ) but in the Dimitroff book have seen Blue Aurene, Blue Jade, etc.
Maybe someone out there who knows his / her “blues” can respond with all the Steuben blue colors.
Thanks,
Frank W. Ford
David Chadwick-Brown of San Diego noted in the recent 1926 House Beautiful Ad for Steuben that the Rouge Flambé was called “Rouge Flamme”. Does that mean it is a different item from Rouge Flambé? Probably not. There is a substantial record of the marketing department labeling various glass types, such as Blue Aurene with special names that appear to be nothing more than a marketing matter which are quite unlike the factory records for the particular pieces. Likely, the same here for Rouge Flambé.
