As a follow-up to Bob Weinberg’s blurb on the Morgan, not only is it a great museum, but the museum restaurant, which regularly receives rave reviews, is housed in the original Morgan family dining room. If you get there before May 30 you can also view one of the original versions of the Magna Carta (dating to 1217) which is on display at the Morgan because it couldn’t be returned to England due to the disruption in air traffic caused by the Iceland volcano eruption. www.themorgan.com
Make sure Lisa Ackerman knows that there is indeed Carder Steuben glass on display at the West Virginia Museum of American Glass, some of which has been donated by members of the Club and which is also displayed in a case paid for by the Club through a previous donation. wvmag.bglances.com

Dean Six at the WVMAG reports that he’ll send pictures of their Steuben collection–it just may take a week or two.
Peetie Dimitroff of Corning sends the following along.
Southside Neighborhood Association is again asking for help from the Carder Steuben Club. We are sponsoring a very special playground at the elementary school named for Carder. We have applied for a couple of grants and need votes to help us win these.
The first is for $20K in “America’s Favorite School” contest. All it requires is ONE vote ONE time. The web site is http://www.care2.com/schoolcontest/3600/636/
Just one vote will help us!
The second is for %50K from Pepsi. The web site is www.refresheverything.com/carderkoalarun
With this one we are asking for people to vote every day during the month of May. Once you log in you get 10 votes each day. There are I think 4 categories – Carder is under $50,000. Only one vote can be cast for Carder each day, but there are tons of deserving projects to which one can apply their other 9 votes. Of course, I’m only voting for Carder under the $50K column, but there are many good projects.
Anyone who is willing to do this will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Peetie
