PIZZA & MORE

Oct 9, 2009
Issue 700

Once in Corning there are lots of opportunities to see collections. I had the opportunity to stop by Harry Lindblom’s house to see his goblet collection. In the link provided take a look. Harry seems to know everyone in Corning. He is related to the glassblowing Jannson family. Yes, Johnny is famous for being able to blow Intarsia. Harry lives next door to Johnny’s house, then his house which was his father who worked at Steuben and then a brother Jannson’s house on the other side.

That Thursday evening the Symposium began with a pizza party at the home/B&B of Dick Bright and Kyle Goodman. Pictures included.

David Goldstein of Naples points out that when I referred to the “wonder” instead of “wander” as in wandering Market Street in Corning, that perhaps that was the proper usage when including the CMoG exhibit.
I had noticed the “wonder” rather than “wander” but decided it was appropriate. As many times as I have seen the Market Street exhibit, especially at night, I still see something new and exciting every time.

“Wonder” is really an apt description of the exhibit, and the exhibit is much more striking at night than it is during the day.
