From Rande Bly on the red Mellon perfume.
I have received better photo’s of the Mellon perfume and in my opinion it is definitely not Steuben. Good catch Marshall.
All this highlights the problems and issues of identification.
David Winfield adds a picture and comment on a piece of “Cardinal Red”.
This is the miniature vase. 3″ high and 3″ across with beautiful applied handles and the typical beautifully ground pontil. I have a strong feeling that this is the work of Carder. What do you think? This object coincides with your debate over the different Carder Reds. Could this be a whimsy?
Two weeks until the Symposium. It looks like we’re going to have more than last year. Just great news for this exciting program.
