We’ve had several e-mails talking about Cardinal Red on what you’ve seen described as a #1455 perfume. #1455 refers to the shape number of the perfume. This shape number can be found in Paul V. Gardner’s book, The Glass of Frederick Carder, at page 240. Most of Frederick Carder’s 7,000 designed shapes can be found catalogued in this book. On occasion the Club has put out write ups by Club members of their favorite pieces. This comes out in a series entitled, Collector’s Favorites. The predecessor to our Club was the Friends of Carder and they started this practice with Collector’s Choice Review. At any rate a Collector’s Favorite was produced in 2004 featuring the #1455 Mellon Ribbed Perfume, which is attached for your interest.
