Or, have ever you wondered whether Mr. Carder’s creations are present in his house of worship? Would you like to visit in Mr. Carder’s religious footsteps? Good questions that have been asked by one of this year’s Symposium attendees. Well, actually, a couple of year’s ago Tom Dimitroff took us to Mr. Carder’s church, the Corning School where Mr. Carder was President and Tom Dimitroff taught (a wondrous small glass collection);and Mr. Carder’s cemetery. As I best recall Mr. Carder’s church contains not his works, but works by LC Tiffany. Some irony. Yes, I think any who are attending the Symposium might want to attend church services at Mr. Carder’s church on Sunday, October 4 to share the experience. I hope someone from Corning will respond with more information on the church and time of services.
Bob Weinberg of Huntington, New York adds this comment on the Cardinal Red perfume.
Interesting discussions . I think its not shape 1455 because it has 8 bulbs not 6! If Carder it may be shape 2183. I believe Carder believed only in even numbers. Carder used this stopper shape on large pieces so why not this one?
Lon Knickerbocker sadly reports that Mary Ann Sprague, who many know from Corning has passed away.
