Scott Hansen reports on his rubbing elbows in NYC.
If you find yourself in New York City before the end of the month, be sure to stop in at the Steuben Flagship Store (667 Madison – at 61st) to view the Carder Steuben Exhibition curated by Tom Dimitroff. Approximately 100 works of Carder are on display and for sale, representing a wide range of the colors and styles he produced. An opening reception was held last week for guests to sip champagne, enjoy hors d’oeuvres, view the glass and mingle with other collectors. Tom and Peetie Dimitroff were present answering questions for both new and experienced collectors, offering commentary and making introductions. Members of the Carder Steuben Club who attended had a chance to renew acquaintances and meet other collectors. While there, you can also view a selection of Steuben exhibition glass on the mezzanine level, see the current Steuben offerings on the main level and enjoy the current display in the gallery space on the lower level.
