From Marshall Ketchum:
Carol and I attended the services for Bob Rockwell this past Friday and Saturday. I have attached three photos.

The first is of a table set up by the family that demonstrates the wide range of collecting interest that Bob had. The second is of the flowers sent by the Club. The third is a Cire Perdue piece that is now installed the Rockwell’s church, the Christ Episcopal Church in Corning. Bobby donated the piece in honor of his mother, his wife and now his father. He obtained a pair of these, similar but different, that had been installed in a church in Rochester NY that has been torn down.

I.D. CLINIC
Scott Hansen, chairman of this year’s Carder Steuben Club Symposium, Oct. 1-3 in Corning, NY notes after the inquiry from Wilson Craigie seeking to identify an early piece of glass that there will be an I.D. Clinic at this year’s Symposium.
It’s great to talk about pictures of glass but if you bring it to the Symposium we can all see and feel it and a panel of really smart people (plus the audience) will give you their opinions. Then you can walk over to the Carder Gallery and compare your glass to the many examples on display

WHAT’S HAPPENING?
If you look at the Steuben official web site you now don’t see a reference to “Vintage Steuben”. Have they dropped that concept? Well Scott Hansen reports yesterday that he received from the Manhattan Steuben Store the following promotion.
Yesterday’s mail brought an envelope from Steuben with a return address from the Madison Avenue Store. It contained six 5 by 8 glossy cards featuring 33 color images of Vintage Steuben. The top card announced an “Exhibition and sale of rare Frederick Carder works from 1906 to 1932. Curated by Tom Dimitroff.” The Exhibition is on view through May 31 and you can even arrange a private consultation by calling 646-497-3753.
