For those who are members of the Carder Steuben Club on this e-mail list you should have received an informational e-mail from Club Secretary Dick Weerts about your membership cards in The Corning Museum of Glass. If any members haven’t, please reply and let us know. Anyone who would like to consider joining the Carder Steuben Club, see the attached.
Here follows a report on the Club’s Symposium to be held (Oct. 1-3) at The Corning Museum of Glass in Corning.
We have also scheduled a new session this year specifically for new collectors of Carder Steuben. On Thursday afternoon, October 1, new collectors will gather in the Coffee Bar outside the CMoG auditorium for a two hour question and answer session. Several experienced collectors will answer questions and offer their opinions about collecting Carder Steuben glass; buying at auction, from dealers or shops, via the Internet or at shows; researching glass; caring for glass and any other matters which the group wishes to discuss. Specifically designed for new collectors, this session is not for experienced collectors, appraisers, auctioneers, dealers or shop owners – just new collectors sharing their questions. After about an hour, the group will walk over to the Carder Gallery in Building B to continue the discussion.
