1. First, some, but not all received multiple copies on the Forgett paper collection. Apparently when pdfs or jpgs are sent one or more on the e-mail list don’t have the ability to receive them and the system keeps trying to resend without distinction. We’ll try and work on avoiding this problem, but don’t know the solution yet. So sorry and our apologies.

SUBERB EPHEMERE COLLECTION ,I FEEL THAT VERONICA—–
Forgett felt that the paper trail she accumulated on the glass
industry of the late l800s and early 1900s was very important to preserve the history of this golden era of American glass history . Her archival collection covering 50 years of development of the glass industry was sold at a Skinner Auction in 1990….
3. David Goldstein reminesces about the Forgett glass collection.
The Forgett sale at Skinner’s was primarily devoted to her glass collection, which if I recall, was primarily Tiffany and Steuben, with some other material as well. I went to the sale and a copy of the catalog is probably in an unopened box in my office. Virginia Forgett’s daughter (who passed away several years ago) was a member of the Westchester Chapter of the NAGC and a regular at the Westchester Glass Show. We had some interesting converstaions, did some business and also swapped several pieces with her.
