Issue 418
The Club’s new secretary, Dick Weerts has prepared minutes from our annual
meeting held this past Saturday. (see attached) Dick must be taking his new
role quite seriously. First, with speed and then a good summation of what
transpired.
In so many ways this year’s Symposium was just first class. First, attendance
was up, even though the economy was down. The subject matters and the depth
of discovery was top notch. Everyone present just kept repeating on what a nice,
friendly group of people this was. CMoG does a fabulous job of providing backup
and service for everything. No request is too little for them. The food service
was as good as it gets. Programming wise there was something for everybody at
all levels of collecting; from the most sophisticated to the novice. For those who
wanted books, the Museum shop had those. For those who need display stands,
official Steuben stands were available and featured. For glass shoppers there
were the usual venues, plus this year several hotel room sellers. And, of course,
the auction. Yes, it was a celebration.
