Collector’s Favorites

Sep 24, 2006
Issue 188

1. Members of the Club should have received or by Monday should have received a set of four
Collector’s Favorites. These are individual monographs of a collector’s favorite piece of Carder glass with about 500 words of their expression of what it is about the piece that is special, that they treasure. For those members who don’t receive it by Monday, please write and we’ll see that a set goes out to you. We may have administratively missed some members in this mailing.
2. The Rockwell Museum put out a series entitled “Collector’s Choice Review”. This was a guest critique of selected favorites from the Rockwell collection. Over the years 64 of these loose leaf single sheet monographs were produced. The Club has about three of these books with inserts remaining for sale (the final supply from the Rockwell). The cost is $35, plus $3 shipping if anyone wants to acquire this book.
3. In addition to item #1, Collector’s Favorite discussed above, the Club has since its formation put out twelve other Collector’s Favorites monographs. They are conveniently tipple punched and fit in the Rockwell binder. If any members of the Club would like others of the 12 we do have some left, although not the entire set. Just let us know and we’ll see if we can’t supply that to Club members. Not a member? Attached is an application form.
4. We’ve sent out a few pictures from the Symposium. A number of recipients of these e-mails
have written asking for additional pictures and pictures of the auction. If those attending have some good pictures please send me JPEG–so we can share.
5. Finally, the Club owns about 3 or 4 books, “Objects of Desire, The art of Frederick Carder”.
The cover is attached. They retail for $30, but the Club’s cost was $15, and that with a $3
shipping cost will get you those remaining books from the Club. Dick would like to get both of these remaining books sold and out of storage in his front closet.
